Erica Bigham-Weiss

As the daughter of two opera singers, Erica Bigham-Weiss was thrilled to join Lyric Opera’s teaching artist program in 2026. She began her acting training in high school at The Chicago Academy for the Arts, followed by The University of Southern California in LA. While in high school, she worked extensively in professional theater, garnering a Jeff Award nomination for best supporting actress for her role in The Children’s Hour. In addition to theater, she also has many film and television credits beginning with her work as a voiceover commercial artist in the fifth grade.

Since moving to Kansas City in 2007, she has been teaching and performing for Starlight Theater’s educational outreach program as well as doing commercial acting work. When she’s not working, you’ll find her spending time with her two lovely daughters Luna and Millie, their cats Lola and Bb, and assisting her husband in renovating their historic home in Excelsior Springs.
