AVAILABLE POSITIONS

Job Summary: The Ticketing and Patron Services Representative is a member of the Ticketing &
Patron Services team and will perform the daily transactional and data entry functions of the
Ticketing & Patron Services Center. The Ticketing and Patron Services Representative will provide patron satisfaction through excellent customer service and will strive to increase participation in Company events by using consistent, proven sales techniques in all interactions with patrons. Will also be the first point of contact with the public for Lyric Opera and is responsible for the phone and front door systems, reception, and mail systems.

Accomplish the objectives of Lyric Opera of Kansas City and the Development Department:

2025–2026 SEASON AUDITIONS

Lyric Opera of Kansas City is seeking a dog to play the role of Old Dog in Of Mice and Men. The dog will be led on stage on a leash, will sit quietly and will be petted while a scene takes place, and then will be led offstage (about 20 minutes total on stage).

Interested parties will need to attend one of the two audition dates:

  • Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 pm
  • Monday, March 23, 2026, from 6:00–7:00 pm

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Dogs must be trained (reliable sit, stay, and down commands).
  • Dogs should have a gentle temperament and must be able to remain calm through a loud opera scene.
  • Dogs of various breeds and ages are welcome to apply.
  • Dogs should be medium to large in size (range of 60–120 pounds)
  • Dogs should be in good health and current on vaccinations.
  • No harm comes to the animal during rehearsals or performances.

The selected dog and a consistent owner/handler will be required to attend rehearsals beginning on April 15, 2026, and must be available for performances May 1, 2, and 3, 2026.

All auditions will be held at the Michael & Ginger Frost Production Arts Center at 712 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MO 64108 (corner of 18th and Charlotte).

Applicants should download and fill out an audition registration form, and submit with a photo of the auditioning dog. Registration materials should be submitted by March 13, 2026, to Sarah Zsohar at szsohar@kcopera.org.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City will hold adult chorus auditions for tenor, mezzo-soprano, baritone, and bass choristers. Auditions will take place on the following days:

  • October 15, 2024, from 3:00 pm–6:00 pm
  • October 16, 2024, from 3:00 pm–6:00 pm

Auditioners will be asked to perform one song of their choosing in a foreign language. Please be prepared to sing a second selection in a contrasting style if requested. A pianist will be provided.

All auditions will be held at the Michael & Ginger Frost Production Arts Center, 712 E. 18th St.,
Kansas City, MO 64108 (corner of 18th and Charlotte).
