MacKenzie Reed is a Kansas City-based musician, improviser, educator, and writer who seriously studies the silly. She completed a PhD in Music Education at the University of Kansas while producing original musical comedy acts about everything from saturnine succulents to demonic divas. MacKenzie’s extensive background as a professional musician and music educator inform her work as a musical improv director, a role for which she—and her ivory-tickling skills—are voraciously sought. She firmly believes anyone can sing—and sing joyfully—and that the pursuit of excellence leads to human flourishing in all directions. Whether she is behind the keyboard or on the stage, MacKenzie brings passion, energy, and joy to every moment.
