Magdalena Kuźma

Polish American soprano Magdalena Kuźma was a member of The Metropolitan Opera Lindemann Young Artist Programme and made her mainstage Met debut in the 23–24 season as Giannetta L’elisir d’amore. A graduate of Julliard and Yale University, Magdalena is a recipient of the George London Award 2025. She won KF Marcella Sembrich International Voice Competition in 2024 and as well as the First Prizes at the Butler International Competition and Pasadena Vocal Competition in 2022 and won Second Prizes at the Metropolitan Opera Regionals, Rochester International, Washington International, and Shreveport Opera competitions. She is also a proud graduate of San Francisco Opera’s Merola Opera Program, Santa Fe Opera, Ravinia Festival, Renée Fleming’s Song Studio at Carnegie Hall, and Houston Grand Opera’s Young Artists Vocal Academy.

An avid recitalist, Kuźma recently performed with LyricFest and made her Wigmore Hall debut in November 2023. Other recital debuts this season include performances at the The Green Music Center, Merkin Hall, Newport Classical Music Festival, Bruno Walter Theater, and the Society of the Four Arts.

Projects at The Metropolitan Opera include Sister Catherine in Dead Man Walking, Papagena in The Magic Flute, and Yvette in La Rondine. Other projects include her role debut as Susanna Le nozze di Figaro at the Aspen Music Festival, her recital debut at the Cincinnati Song Initiative, Mahler: Symphony No. 4 with the Utah Symphony Orchestra, Mahler: Symphony No. 2 with the Santa Rosa Symphony Orchestra, and Brahms’ Ein Deutsches Requiem with the Santa Barbara Symphony Orchestra.

Last season and this season projects include her debut for Polish National Opera as Pamina om Die Zauberflote , her role debut as Tatjana in Eugene Onegin for Wolf Trap Opera, Camina Burana with the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra, a recital at the Rockefeller University, Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro for Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice for North Carolina Opera.
