Singer and actress Mikaela Bennett began the 2022–2023 season with a return to MasterVoices as Micaëla in Carmen. Additional engagements included a debut with the Oakland Symphony for Zodiac Suite, returns to The Cleveland Orchestra and The Philadelphia Orchestra, and her New York City recital debut at Alice Tully Hall.
The 2021–2022 season saw debuts at The Glimmerglass Festival as Maria (The Sound of Music) and The Cleveland Orchestra for Zodiac Suite. Additionally, she recorded Zodiac Suite with Aaron Diehl and The Knights and returned to MasterVoices’ for “A Joyful Noise” which featured 10-time GRAMMY Award winning gospel group Take 6. Mikaela is a native of Ottawa, Canada and a graduate of The Juilliard School.
