Seungchan Hong

South Korea-born baritone Seungchan Hong holds a Professional Studies Diploma in Voice at Mannes School of Music, where he was a full scholarship recipient studying under Arthur Levy.

Hong has performed the title roles in Rigoletto and Falstaff with the Milnes Voice Studio. He won first prize in the Opera Idol competition, supported by legendary baritone Sherrill Milnes and tenor George Shirley. He also performed in a double bill of Gianni Schicchi (Giacomo Puccini) and Buoso’s Ghost (Michael Ching) with Montclair State University, where he was a recipient of the First Cali School of Music Vocal Competition.

Hong’s accolades include the Encouragement Award from the Opera at Florham International Vocal Competition and semifinalist status in the Loren L. Zachary Vocal Competition. His performance credits include Germont in La traviata and Renato in Un ballo in maschera, both with Manhattan School of Music.
