Dr. Rebecca Lepping is an assistant professor in the KU School of Medicine Department of Neurology and director of the Power Of Music (PROMUS) lab. She is a cognitive neuroscientist (Ph.D.), musician (M.A.), and music psychologist (M.A.) who is passionate about the power of music to affect us, improve our well-being, and make our lives better.
Power of Music Laboratory (PROMUS)
PROMUS lab research examines the links between music and lung health, music and pain, music and emotion, and music and Alzheimer’s disease with a body/mind/brain approach. Dr. Lepping and her research team combine scientific methodology, imaging techniques, and music theory in their research to investigate how music impacts human physiology, psychology, and well-being.
