Susan Marie Moreno was born in Iowa in 1956 as a second-generation Mexican. As a retired art teacher in the Kansas City area, she is a storyteller and artist whose work draws from deeply personal experiences to connect with audiences in powerful ways. Her storytelling explores themes of family, lesbian identity, and resilience—often reflecting on moments of transformation and growth. Her ability to engage and inspire through both visual art and spoken word has made her a dynamic voice in the Kansas City creative community.
