The Barber of Seville
In less than two weeks, we open our dazzling, Gaudí-inspired production of The Barber of Seville at the Kauffman Center! Rossini's most illustrious comedic opera is full of familiar tunes, sure to stay in your ear for days after the show. We are also excited to welcome several internationally-renown performers to the stage to make their Lyric Opera debut—including some of this season's Resident Artists!
Latinx Artists Market
Join us on December 7 as we invite Latinx artisans, creatives, and performing artists to share their talents at our Latinx Artists Market! We will be celebrating Kansas City's rich cultural heritage with a free pop-up marketplace to purchase artisan wares, gifts, and food from local vendors. We'll also have several performances from local Latinx performing artists!
Opera Dives Deep
Are you interested in learning more about The Barber of Seville? Join us for Opera Dives Deep on November 4 and 12, 2024, to enrich your understanding of Rossini's beloved opera. The first session will explore the fascinating life of Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, the French playwright whose works became famous operas. The second session will delve into the rich plot, memorable music, and historical context that make The Barber of Seville an enduring masterpiece.
