What was Gilbert and Sullivan’s world like? And, more importantly, what were they wearing? Not the men per se, but the women! Travel to the late nineteenth century with Lyric Opera of Kansas City and The Museum of Kansas City to deepen your enjoyment of The Pirates of Penzance. A panel discussion exploring the women, fashion, and culture of the era will be complimented by a special display of Victorian dresses, a period musical performance, and afternoon tea.
About Community Conversations

We invite the culturally curious to explore the “here and now” implications of productions in a series of events featuring live music and stimulating conversation. No prior opera knowledge necessary!
