Bring the whole family to Lyric Opera of Kansas City’s mariachi opera Cruzar la Cara de la Luna and enrich the experience with Stories in the Spotlight, a three-part program designed for learning and fun:
- Read to prepare—dive into the opera’s themes with a curated, all-ages reading list from our friends at Kansas City Public Library.
- Create together—join us on Saturday, March 8, at 10:00 am for a family activity with the Latinx Education Collaborative. Learn more about the opera and design a memory quilt inspired by its story.
- Enjoy the show—experience Cruzar la Cara de la Luna with your family on Sunday, March 9, at 2:00 pm.
Cruzar la Cara de la Luna is recommended for ages twelve and up. The performance will be presented in both Spanish and English, with projected titles in both languages. The family activity and reading list are also bilingual.
